Here are some pictures of a mechanical pre-pruning machine that Steve Borra from Borra Vineyards sent to me. He was pre-pruning the Cabernet Sauvignon. See the long canes before and the short canes that are left after the machine goes through,leaving the short canes for the men to select just the right fruiting cane that is pruned back to a 2 bud spur for this years crop.
