2nd Annual Mead Fest at 7Cs Winery Aug 7th 2011

7Cs Winery will hold its 2nd Annual Mead Fest and Renaissance Fair on Aug 7th 2011 from noon to 6 pm.  This Medieval celebration will include recreations and living history by The Society of Creative Anachronism Shire of Oakheart (SCA) and the Brotherhood of Steel.  Performances by Gypsy Sol and Project Vagabond.  The Missouri State Beekeepers Association Queen will also be in attendance.

There will be games, a costume contest for all ages and live music by Angel and Tripleshot.  7Cs will release 9 meads for this festival.  BBQ and Turkey legs will be available from SmokeShack BBQ of Warsaw MO.

Bring the family, a picnic and enjoy the fun.  There is no charge to attend the event. Souvenir Mead tasting glasses are $5.00.  7Cs will have cold bottles of wine and mead as well as a few select beers available. In 7Cs Gift Shop there is a selection of cheeses, summer sausages, crackers, soda and water.

Dwight Crevelt, co-owner of 7Cs said “Last year we had over 300 people attend this event and we expect it to be even larger this year. It seems to have taken on a life of its own”

7Cs Winery is located 1.8 miles north of Walnut Grove MO off Hwy 123 on 560th Rd.
The Winery opened 2 years ago and produces wine and mead (wine made from honey). Their motto is “Drink What You Like and Like What You Drink”.  They offer wines from dry to sweet and everything in between.

7Cs Winery is one of the few wineries that produce Mead, which is an ancient and medieval drink.  In fact in medieval times, a new married couple would be given a moon’s worth (month) of honey wine to ensure offspring hence the term ‘Honeymoon’.

More information on Mead Fest and other events is listed on their website www.7cswinery.com and their facebook page www.facebook.com/7cswinery. Phone 417-788-2263
