Check under the foil wrapper before you break open your next bottle of wine. No longer deemed low-class, synthetic and screw-top stoppers are replacing real cork—and threatening an entire ecosystem.

New Site Features: Polls and Downloads PDF Print E-mail
Written by Justin West
Saturday, 17 February 2007

I'd like to give another update on site features. First, I have added a polling section on the left side of the site. Check back often to make your vote count! Only registered users can vote, but anyone can see the results. Our first poll is to get an idea of what types of wines our group favors the most. In this poll, you can choose as many categories as you consider your favorites.

Adding A Recipe PDF Print E-mail
Written by Justin West
Wednesday, 14 February 2007

This guide will walk you through the steps on adding a recipe to the wine recipes section of the main menu.

First click on the Wine Recipes link on the Main Menu.

The Main Menu

Then click on the 'New...' link as shown below.

This will bring up a page with two editors and some other fields. You should go ahead and type in your Title and choose a Category for your recipe. The first editor is all we need to use for recipes because we will not be showing recipes on the front page of the site.

Go ahead and start writing your recipe. Keep in mind that recipes should include a list of ingredients and step-by-step directions on how to prepare the recipe. Its a good idea to look at a recipe that is already written to get an idea of the format that is used.

When you are finished writing the recipe, you will need to mark it as published in order for others to be able to see it. To do this, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Publishing tab. Change the state from Unpublished to Published.

After the recipe is finished and you have the state changed to published, you must click the save button in order for your recipe to be submitted.

That's it! If you have questions over this guide, please let me know!
