Heat Shrink seals / capsules - 2008/06/04 20:23 I used an old hair dryer to shrink my first batch of seals. I am not happy with my results; the seals are wrinkled. I wanted the neat, unwrinkled look that the wine bottles in the store have. Any suggestions?

Re:Heat Shrink seals / capsules - 2008/06/08 19:52 Hi Justin,
We are Warren & Kathleen.
Last month we bottled our 1st batch of wine. We made 6 gallons of Vintners Reserve Merlot. A quick taste during bottling gave us a clue that it may turn out well. We'll leave it in the bottle until September and if it's still OK, we'll bring some to the meeting.
We hope to see everyone at the June meeting.
Best Wishes,
Warren

Re:Heat Shrink seals / capsules - 2008/06/09 09:05 Warren,
When I put the capsules on my bottles, I use a pot filled with about 2 to 3 inches of water. I heat the water to almost boiling. Then I put the capsule over the bottle and turn it upside down in the water. It shrinks it very tight and does not wrinkle.
